Over the past couple of weeks students in Ms. Banks' 8th grade Art classes have been very busy working on creating thematic displays to communicate an important social or environmental issue of their choice.
These informative public arts pieces center around communicating political messages to raise awareness of the topic and to promote positive choices for the viewers and the wider community. In small groups, students researched specific social issues and then worked hard to gather facts, propose a range of potential solutions and communicated the message in the medium a visual mural format. Ms. Banks also allowed students to integrate 3-D aspects into student mural projects.
