Tech Ed students classes with Mr. Ruscito are studying Construction Technology. During the final weeks of the school year, students design floor plans for a single family home using 3D Home Architect software. While designing their homes, students are learning the academic language of home building. Students are listening, speaking, reading, and writing in small groups and large groups in order to facilitate their understanding of home building. Students always enjoy this fun, and educational hands-on project!
While Tech Ed students with Mr. O’Connor are currently studying Manufacturing Technology and the Engineering Design Process. During the final weeks of the school year, students design board games while working in groups. In this hands-on unit of study, students are learning how the Engineering Design Process helps organize and improve the process of designing, building, and testing a product. For example, students use CAD to design a part for a board game. Additionally, a 3D printer will be used by a number of students.
